Poring is a small town in the state of Sabah Malaysia. It is mainly visited by tourist and locals because of its hot spring. Poring hot spring houses both open-air and private cabin baths. The water is therapeutic it can relieves pain, stress, skin woes and more after the long climb up Mount Kinabalu. Poring hot spring also have other reacreation and natural reserve like like Butterfly Farm, Poring Orchid Conservation Centre, Kipungit Waterfall, Tropical Garde, Poring Canopy Walkway, Bat Cave and Langanan Water Fall.
At the entrance. Map of the Poring Hot Spring and Natural Reserve.
Upon entering you need to buy a ticket at the counter (RM15 for foreigner, RM3 for local), then you can enjoy the hot spring in open area.
You need to walk 265 Meters more or less to Hot Spring. This picture taken along the way.
Rickety bridge is seen along the way. I think its more fun to use that bridge than the paved new one.
Behind me is the source of all this hot spring. The smell is so sulphuric .
This is the thermal pools available as open air style tiled baths with taps to fill with fresh water and there are dozen of it in the area. During weekend or holidays this area are crowded with people. There is a changing room and toilet near the hot spring area.
Water in this rock pool is so cold. This is divided into two sections, for children and adult.
For those wants privacy, enclosed baths inside little chalet-like shelters are available but you have to pay at the entrance if you want to sue. There is also slide pool next to hot spring and the entrance is RM3 for adult (same rate for local and foreign tourist).
They have also quipped with a restaurant, and souvenir shop .
I miss the chance to go swimming because its too crowded, hmmm maybe next time (wink). We decided to exprience the poring canopy walkway and have a hike to Kapungit falls.
Ive passed to this signage on our way to canopy walkway. This is Borneo's first butterfly farm that features a garden, nursery and hatchery for the purpose of research, education and the conservation of endangered species.
We need to walk 500 meters more or less from hot poring srping to Canopy wakway entrance.
Starting point of Poring Canopy Walkway.
We have pay the entrance fee here first RM 5.00 for non Malaysian and another RM5.00 for camera. It is open from 9am to 4pm daily.
The trail takes 30 minutes more or less it depends on how fast you walk. But I havent notice that 30 minutes because i have enjoyed the walk.
They said that Poring Canopy Walkway is not for those who have height phobia but for me its not that scary. See my smiling face, seems like i have enjoyed the walk.
I never feel fear even it with its 175 Meters long and 41-43 Meters in height. I feel secured about this canopy walk because its fully laced with polyester ropes, the walakway is so covered and the netting enclosed both sides for additional security.
This end my canopy walk adventure.
