Tip of Borneo
I used to go with friends and love ones on a trip to see new places once or twice a year, it depends on how long the holiday is. July 28-31, 2014 is a Celebration of ‘Hari Raya’ (end of Ramadan) in Brunei so we decided to came up with a short travel to Malaysia for 5 days from July 27 - 30, 2014. Blessed enough when one of our friend is very generous to offer his car, be our driver and our guide for a 4-day tour to Sabah for free. Since then my excitement grow more and more each day until the moment came. My friend made and itinerary for the 4-day trip, book an accommodation, so on and so forth. So thankful and grateful for having a friend like him.
Big day have come (travelling always a big day for me :D). Excited to see what lies ahead. Wake up early morning at 4am to prepare for our journey by land and it takes 8 hours more or less from Brunei to Kota kinabalu, the capital of Sabah state in Malaysia. Not so early at 5:14am we have started our journey from Bandar Seri Begawan and reached the border at 6:20am. Expect a very long queue because it’s a long holiday and many just like us wants to spend their holiday somewhere else.
At the Brunei border (Kualah Lurah- Tedungan)
It takes almost an hour at the border and excited heading to our destination. Going to KK from Brunei we have to pass through 4 international borders, namely: 1. Tedungan - Kuala Lurah (Brunei border) 2. Panduran - Puni (Limbang border) 3. Temburong-Lawas (Labuan border) 4. Sindumin - Merapok (Sabah border).

Sindumin - Merapok (Sabah border)
The journey runs so smooth, not so much traffic we reached Kota Kinabalu at around 11:00am. We stop at ‘1 Borneo Mall’ to buy something we needed, also change our Brunei dollar to Malaysian Ringit and decided to have lunch at Nando’s Restaurant.

Then, continue our journey to Kudat.
The tip of Borneo
Kudat district it is more than 200 kilometres away from kota Kinabalu centre and about 3 and half hours drive. AT around 4pm we arrived in Kudat then proceed directly to what they called "Tip of Borneo'. It is one of the most visited attraction in Sabah. Located at the northern-most tip of Borneo, they said that it is the third largest island in the world, after Greenland and New Guinea. Here found the Giant Bronze Globe, Flog Pole and Outcrop Rocky Tip of Borneo.
We need to hike from the parking lot to the tip with landmark about 250 meters, I guess.
what an stunning view of the ocean along the way. We couldn’t help but take a pic.
Giant Bronze Globe.
The whole team at the Giant Bronze Glode with engraved ‘Tip of Borneo’
At the back of the giant bronze globe is where the map featuring the Borneo Island and oh my beloved country Philippines is visible also. this is where the Sulu and China seas meet and one can reach the southern part of the province of Palawan in the Philippines.
What a view. Savouring the moment, feeling the cold windy ocean breeze.
Fence behind me means you are until that point only and beyond that it will be your on risk. We can’t resist to go down and take picture at the tip.
Steep cliff of dramatic limestone outcrop.Trying to be adventurous even with shaky legs. Don’t follow what I did, its dangerous.
Even though its dangerous, i don’t mind it. All i want is to enjoy the moment, i love it here.
I coudn't get this post if i didn't come down.
On the left side of the tip is the beach of Tanjung Simpang Mengayau. We stop for a while , take pictures, walk on the white fine sand, feel the wind, and enjoy the moment until sunset.
They say that no two sunsets are ever the same. Whether it’s the color, the clouds, or the scenery each one has something unique about it. In Kudat, i was so blessed to experience its stunning sunset.
